I've been meaning to start writing for a while. But every time I got close, I'd either rewrite the whole blog from scratch because I thought "I can build this better," or stall on whether I actually had anything worth sharing.
So here we are. No manifesto, no content strategy, just a public set of Notes.
Quick intro: I'm Ahmed, I build things. Mostly frameworks, it turns out. I can't seem to resist extracting the patterns I keep rewriting into reusable systems. Gas, a modular Go framework for shipping SaaS quickly. Ashes, a gameplay framework for Unreal that powers a Soulslike I've been building solo. Before those, a few years deep in LegalTech and M&A as a solo technical founder, which taught me the domain cold, and taught me the difference between knowing a space well and actually wanting to build in it.
That last part is the honest state of things: I'm still working out what's next. I've got the experience to keep going down the path I'm on; I'm not sure that's the same as wanting to. Writing some of this out in public is partly how I plan to figure it out: a decision isn't really made until it's exposed to something that can say no.
So these notes will wander. Software and architecture, AI, the occasional philosophical rabbit hole, and games. I don't have a neat narrative for how it all connects yet. I think that's fine.
More soon.
